In order. Every time.

Part one: the hook that stops the scroll.

This is the first sentence or two of the ad — the part visible before the see more button. Its job is singular: create enough curiosity, recognition, or emotional relevance that the right person stops scrolling and reads further.

The most reliable hooks do one of three things. They name the exact problem the reader has right now, in language specific enough to feel personal. They make a counterintuitive claim that contradicts something the reader believes. Or they start a story that can’t be left unfinished.

What hooks never do: start with your company name, lead with a benefit statement, or sound like an advertisement.

Part two: the body that builds belief.

Once you’ve stopped the scroll you have thirty to sixty seconds — maybe less — to take the reader from interested to believing that what you’re offering could actually work for them. This is the trust-building section and it works through one of three mechanisms: education, story, or proof.

Education hooks work by teaching the reader something they didn’t know that makes your offer suddenly logical. If you can shift the reader’s understanding of the problem or the solution in a way that makes your approach the obvious answer, you’ve done the hardest part of the sale in the ad itself.

Story hooks work by letting the reader see someone like them having the experience you’re promising. Not a fabricated testimonial but a real narrative — how someone started where the reader is and arrived somewhere they want to be.

Proof hooks work through specificity. Numbers, timeframes, named outcomes. Not vague claims but concrete, falsifiable results that signal you actually know what you’re doing.

Part three: the call to action that removes friction.

After the hook and the body have done their work, the CTA has one job: make the next step as easy and low-risk as possible. Clear. Specific. Action-oriented. One thing.

The most common CTA mistake is asking for too much commitment too soon. The reader has been engaged for forty-five seconds. Asking them to schedule a call, book a consultation, or commit to a program is usually more than the trust you’ve built can support. A lower-friction first step — download this, watch this, get this free thing — converts better and puts them into a sequence where the bigger ask happens after more trust has been established.

Hook. Body. CTA. In that order.
